appearance;; Mercy has long, dark brown hair that falls to just about her shoulders. She usually keeps it pulled back so it’s out of her face when she’s working, but when she’s off duty she likes to have it frame her face and spill down her back. Her eyes are a rich dark chocolate brown that almost look black in certain light. She has a natural tan so she’s never pasty pale, even in the middle of winter. She’s slender but nicely muscled, and stands at 5’6”.
personality;; Mercedes is usually quiet, observing everything around her. It took her years to learn this skill though, as when she was younger she was always very outgoing, hotheaded and never wanted to sit still for longer than a second. She’s naturally curious, which is probably what lead her into her line of work. As she got older, she learned that being patient really was a virtue, and not an annoyance her mother kept trying to stuff down her throat. Mercy loves her family, and always says family comes first, even over her job with the government.
Mercedes has a very strong sense of family. She’s very close to her twin, Lily, and her daughter, Jasmine. Mercy is also as close as ever with her husband, the two as close as newlyweds even after being married for twelve years.
family;; Inigo Silva; Husband (38)
Jasmine Silva; Daughter (10)
Lily Garcia; Twin Sister (35)
Guillermo Garcia; Brother (37)
Mary Garcia; Mother (61)
Lorenzo Garcia; Father (67)- deceased
history;; Mercedes was born on a hot night in July only five minutes before her twin, Lily. Her parents constantly made fun of her because they said that she came into the world screaming at the top of her lungs, while Lily barely made a noise at all. They always said that Mercy screamed as much for Lily as she did herself. As she and Lily got older, her parents were amused to realize that Mercy really was going to talk for both of them. Lily was the quiet, motherly type even at a young age, while Mercy was outgoing, outspoken, and very impatient. She was always in the middle of the action, while Lily was usually either on the outskirts shaking her head at her sister, or dragged into the middle of the action because Mercy thought she needed to get more involved.
It wasn’t until high school when Mercy started to learn patience. She slowly started to realize getting into fights wasn’t a good idea. They had moved from their small town in Mexico to America just before her and Lily had gone into high school, all of them gaining their citizenship in time for the twins to go to high school. It wasn’t long before Mercy realized that trying to fight the pampered girls in these schools was a waste of time, since they thought fighting consisted of pulling hair and crying a lot. Not all of them were like that, but Mercy had lost her taste in getting into arguments like her brother always did. She realized then just walking away from fights was just as effective, if not as much fun. She also realized that fighting all the time was upsetting her mother and Lily, even though Guillermo was usually the one who pushed her into most of the fights. She finally calmed down, learning to be patient with idiots even if she wanted to punch them.
Mercy met Inigo in high school. At first, the two hated each other. He was good friends with Guillermo, and the two would pick on Mercy and Lily. One day though, Mercy was attacked on the way home from college a few years after having met Inigo. She hadn’t wanted to wait around for Lily to get out of class, and said she would meet her sister at home. She was jumped by a small group of young men about her age. Despite the fact that she could fight, she was sorely outnumbered. Inigo had happened to have been walking by when he heard her screaming for help as she tried to fight the men off. What they had wanted, Mercy didn’t want to think about. Inigo had rushed into the alley swinging, knocking the first guy out with a nerve strike to the back of his neck. Together, the two fought off the group, both of them having been trained in martial arts, while the men were just morons off the street. They didn’t leave without their own wounds, but the two managed to limp to Mercy’s house just down the block.
When Inigo had helped Mercy home, she found out she was going to have one hell of a black eye and bruised ribs. Her lip was split, and Inigo’s nose was broken and both of his eyes were starting to blacken. Despite the damage, Mercy could only laugh. Inigo was indignant until Mercy explained. She had thought that Inigo had hated her, and in truth she hadn’t liked him much either. She had never thought he would come to her rescue, and when he surprised her and did, he ended up with a broken nose. She had kissed his cheek and thanked him, after she had washed his face free of blood.
After that day, the two started to talk. They ended up getting close, and without either of them really realizing it, falling into a relationship. Guillermo was disgusted, but relieved that his sister wasn’t dating some idiot, while Lily had gotten teary-eyed in her happiness. Inigo supported Mercy, even when her family worried, about her choice of schooling after the attack on her. She had decided to go into law enforcement. She had intended to be only a police officer, but as she passed the academy, she realized she wanted to go higher than a local law enforcement. Her career in the FBI started then.
In the year of her twenty-third birthday, Mercedes Garcia married Inigo Silva, with Lily standing as Mercy’s maid of honor, and Guillermo standing as Inigo’s best man. Everyone was shocked at how well suited the two were, as they had seemed to dislike each other so greatly when they had been only a few scant years younger. Two years later, Mercy and Inigo were happy parents to a beautiful baby girl, Jasmine. The day their daughter was born, Mercy swore that she would protect her with her life if she needed to.
Mercy’s life up until now has been typical of someone in the FBI. But now, having heard reports of “werewolves” in a small town in South Dakota, Mercy’s life is about to change for the stranger. She doesn’t believe in werewolves, believes that the town is deranged and maybe on drugs. But what Mercy doesn’t believe in might just kill her.
