The young wolf lay curled up on his bed, shoulders trembling with sobs he refused to vocalized. Silent tears streamed down the beta's rosey cheeks, silver orbs clenched shut as a cool, damp breeze trickled into the room through the open window. The clouds clashed together angrily outside and lightening cackled harshly, laughing at the man's misery. And that was all it took to send the boy spiraling into his own thoughts, forcing him deeper and deeper into a world he wished to have forgotten. Voices raised in anger echoed off the wall as a large, robust man sneered down at his sons. The two boys, with mud and blood smeared across their lean forms, nodded their heads as the string of curses and slurs were thrown at them. Identical pairs of onyx laced, silver orbs stared in opposite directs. And then, there it was -- the loud clap of thunder that wasn't thunder at all. A seven year old Triell was struck to the ground, cheek red and gradually swelling and bruising. The child lay there on the ground, knowing better than to get up without being told to. A large boot connected with the boy's chin, knocking him back -- and out.
Hours later, as the boy clawed his way back to consciousnesses, he heard the voice of an angel. That was the first night he accepted her, he welcomed the woman who birthed him, the first and last time he would ever allow her to comfort him.Triell jerked out of the memory, heart pounding against his ribs as he jolted out of his bed. The Young Beta staggered to his window and shut it silently before looking around. His gaze, however, wanted to see only one thing. With a soft sigh, Triell meandered his way over to the Grand Piano located to the back of his room. Sitting at the stool now, Triell just played. Calloused, nimble fingers glided over the keys easily, the soft lyrics flying from his lips as he played. "Goodnight, my angel Time to close your eyes And save these questions for another day I think I know what you've been asking me I think you know what I've been trying to say I promised I would never leave you And you should always know Wherever you may go No matter where you are I never will be far away"The lyrics tumbled from his lips, his head bowed, eyes red and puffy as the memories of so long ago came rushing back, slamming against his heart. "Goodnight, my angel Now it's time to sleep And still so many things I want to say Remember all the songs you sang for me When we went sailing on an emerald bay And like a boat out on the ocean I'm rocking you to sleep The water's dark and deep Inside this ancient heart You'll always be a part of me"A part of Triell broke then -- everything the boy had ever repressed came crashing back, sending him into a panicy state. His heart continued to race, his eyes clenching shut as he struggled to keep his voice from shaking. "Goodnight, my angel Now it's time to dream And dream how wonderful your life will be Someday your child may cry And if you sing this lullabye Then in your heart There will always be a part of me"The storm continued to rage on outside, the clapping and crackling violently. Triell cringed, his fingers stroking the keys slowly now, his jaw trembling as he sang on. "Someday we'll all be gone But lullabyes go on and on... They never die That's how you And I Will be"Triell finished, playing out the last few notes before letting his hands fall to the stool, tears filling his eyes once more. What had gotten into him? Why was he being such a baby? Why was he crying -- there was nothing to cry about -- and yet he was.. he sniffled and rubbed his eyes, trying to wipe away the remaining tears. The child nodded. "Can you take me to them?" Again, the child nodded at the stranger. Callum had been playing fetch with his puppy Balto on the bright sunny day. The breeze was warm as it swirled through the boy's black hair. He led the stranger inside, and it all happened slowly. Three guns were pulled. One fired. BANG! BANG! Callum hit the floor as he heard his mother screaming, and his father as well. Two more gun shots. His siblings dropped to the floor, one hole per head. Tears formed in his eyes. No no no! This couldn't be happening! He looked at his parents in time to see blood trickle from her forehead after another loud bang, and then his father. He shook his head frantically, begging it all to go away. A fire poker was shoved through the soldier's skull. "NOOOOOOO!" Callum screamed as he watches his father die, tears streaming from his eyes like rushing rivers. The man looked at Callum. ""My name is Tyson Rivers. I killed the legendary Cedars." And with that, Tyson turned the gun on Callum and pulled the trigger. Cal shot upward in his bed, sitting with eyes wide and full of fear. Sweat covered his body. His heart was racing, blood pumping. His sides and chest heaved with every rapid breath as rain pounded his window, thunder shaking the house and rattling the windows. He flinched at an especially loud clap of thunder and even covered his face. He peeked between his arms to see he was alone in his room. "A dream..." He muttered. "Just a dream..." No, it wasn't just a dream. It was reality. It happened. Years ago. When he was twelve. Slowly he calmed down and got out of bed. He needed some fresh air. He walked by Triell's room, and Charlie's, and Ruf's, and Leo's. All seemed to be sound asleep. Or at least, the rooms were quiet. He stood outside on the porch, whatever rain that actually reached him just misting his skin and adding a shiny film to his body. He listened to the storm, his eyes glowing amber as he looked out into the night. He had grabbed his smokes on the way out and lit a cigarette, holding it between his lips and taking a drag. As he smoked, for the first time in his life, and yeah he'd been smoking for a few weeks now, he slowly felt his nerves start to relax. He blew the smoke out, though it was quickly carried away with the wind. Another drag. Then another. And another. Eventually he ran out of that cigarette and flicked it into the storm, watching the wind carry it away briefly before going inside. He stopped as he closed the door quietly, hearing something upstairs. His brows furrowed and he listened for a moment. Was that... A piano? He had one at his music studio that actually nobody but Cal himself knew that he owned. It was a white piano, and he played it whenever he got a chance to go down there. But he didn't have a piano here... Not that he knew of anyway... He followed the sound up to Triell's room where he cracked the door open slightly and listened. "I didn't know you played." He said softly as he entered the room, a small smile on his face as he walked over and leaned toward the beta, hugging him from behind, sensing the man was upset about something and wanted to cheer him up.[/div] NOTES: poor guys -snuggles them-

this lovely template was made by Arro from Caution 2.0.

And then he hear that voice -- that damned voice that he hated to love. "I didn't know you played." A pair of warm, large arms wrapped around him from behind, causing him to jerk slightly in surprise. He'd not heard the Alpha enter -- what kind of Beta was he, to not even notice when someone enters his own damn room. Ducking his head so Callum wouldn't be able to see his red rimmed eyes or tear stained face, he shook his head. No one was suppose to hear -- everyone was suppose to be asleep... Why wasn't Callum asleep? Why was the alpha up? It was late... suppose to be sleeping... "Suppose to be sleeping..." he whispered, voice broken and sad as he regarded the man's sudden appearance. "You weren't suppose to hear... no one is suppose to know... no one..." he confessed, still refusing to look at the Alpha. His music was a secret -- always suppose to be a secret. His music was all he had -- all he needed to be happy on those dark nights when dreams evaded him in favor of nightmares. It was his secret, his special secret... why did Callum have to show up? Why couldn't he keep this a secret? Was he that terrible? He turned his head back to the window, watching as the rain pounded against it with a thump, thump, thump. The branches scratched angrily at the glass, making dark figures dance against the dim glass. He asked softly, nuzzling Triell and wanting the beta to be happy again. He listened to the rain pounding outside. "Well if it makes you feel any better, I play the piano to..." He muttered and stroked the beta's hair. He wasn't sure how to comfort Triell, because he didn't know what was wrong, exactly. Then the question. Why was Cal awake... He sighed softly. "Just a bad dream... About my parents..." His voice cracked a little. Triell knew very little about Cal's family, and their fate. And that their killer was still alive. Really only Charlie and Ruf knew Cal's past. And that was it. Leo didn't know anything, and neither did KZ. And that was okay with him. But he had a feeling that tonight, he'd be sharing his story with Triell. And oddly, he didn't mind it.
"I was twelve years old... And I was outside playing with Balto. Back then, he was just a little puppy. And this guy, Tyson Rivers, came up, said he worked with my parents. My mom and dad were american soldiers..." He said softly, watching Triell with sad eyes. "I took him inside because he said he wanted to talk to my mom and dad, and he shot them in their legs. My siblings came out of their rooms, and Tyson shot them too... He killed them... And then he shot my mom in the head..." A shudder ran through the alpha, and he found himself back in the living room, in his head of course, as he relived his parents' death. "He took a fire poker... From the fire place.. And he stabbed it into my dad's head... And he killed them... Tyson Rivers killed my family... And now, I'm hunting him. With the intention of killing him. To avenge my family." He said softly, looking at Triell with sad green eyes. NOTES: cal's so sad): |

His ability to hide himself, broke. And suddenly, Triell was that frail child once more, allowing himself to be comforted like the frightened child he had once been. Shaking, suddenly pale hands, clutched at the shirt covering the Alpha's chest and pressed his face into the man's neck with a soft whimper. "Triell, what's wrong?" What was wrong? Part of Triell didn't know. He'd managed to stay strong -- he managed to get away from that life... but maybe it was his brother, Rodrik, who broke him down. It would be the boy's 17th birthday, if he was still alive. Triell shook his head against Callum's neck, struggling to keep the tears in and knowing he would soon loose the battle. "I... I don't know..." he whispered softly, giving his head another brief shake. "J... it's just... Today's my brother's birthday... If he's still alive it is anyways..." Triell sighed and leaned closer into the Alpha, flinching at another loud clap of thunder. Sure, Triell loved storms -- but the loud ones, the ones that shook the house with their ferocity, those he was terrified of... "Well if it makes you feel any better, I play the piano too..." The young beta attempted a small smile at Cal's words because yeah -- knowing that he wasn't going to look like a girl for playing the Piano -- that did make him fill a tiny bit better. Triell can remember how excited his mother was to teach him something, and he can remember his father's angry snarl as the man refused to allow his son to learn such a girly instrument. Triell remembers crawling onto his mother's lap and telling her he wanted to learn, and that she could teach him -- he may have hated the women, but she'd been so excited... that had been her way of sharing something of her past with him. And then there it was -- the reason Cal was awake. The Alpha shared something with him -- he shared his past with his beta, when the beta could barely even utter that it was his brothers birthday. Trembling fingers ran gently across Callum's face as Triell stared up at him, giving a soft laugh without meaning to. His cheeks flushed bright as he ducked his head. "I.. I'm not laughing at you... It's just... we're quite the pair..." he gave another soft laugh. "The two of us... are we so emotionally stunted that we can't even bare to say what's wrong... Are we so fucked up that it takes someone else to push it from our lips?" Triell continued to stroke Cal's stubble, always liking the feel of it yet unable to grow any facial hair himself. _____ Bedroom // Piano // Guitar // Harmonica // Electric Guitarwords: 0 4 8 5 |notes: |

The alpha's voice was soft and soothing as he nuzzled Triell once more. Cal's brother's birthday was yesterday. He had spent the day crying in the basement, which was why nobody hear or saw the alpha all day. His sister's birthday was next month. His eyes started to water now as he thought of his brother and sister. They had died so young. His brother was eight, and his sister only six. He let out a shuddering sigh and clung to his beta. Now the alpha too needed comfort.
Then he heard it. Triell was laughing. LAUGHING! A deep growl rose from deep in the alpha's chest. Cal had just shared the most painful part of Cal's past. And the fucking bastard was laughing! Oh Cal would just love to shove his hand through Triell and yank the fucker's heart out through his throat. Oh... Not laughing at Cal. Okay then... The alpha slowly started to calm himself. So Triell wasn't laughing at the Cal's pain. That was good at least, right? Cal smiled a bit at Triell's words and kissed the man's temple tenderly. "Yeah... Yeah we're quite the pair." He mumbled and nuzzled Triell one more time. "Hey if you want... I can play you a piece." Referring to the piano. Cal looked at Triell, waiting for an answer. NOTES: sorry it's not as long): |

Took comfort in the knowledge that there was someone who cared about him enough to try and comfort him at all. He felt the growl before he heard it. Cal's chest rumbled as the growl was ripped from his throat -- but Triell didn't do anything. He expected the reaction when he first laughed, so he was just going to wait it out. The beta continues to run his fingers over Cal's chin, head remaining against the older's chest. As the Alpha began to relax, Triell himself began to as well. He tilted his head up, accepting the kiss upon the head and smiled softly, purring almost silently. Triell thought about it for a moment -- of course he wanted to hear Cal play. "Only if I getta stay in your lap.." he whispered, fingers still curled against the man's chest. He was still cold, and Callum was warm... and comfy... "Of course you can stay on my lap." He said softly and turned so they were facing the piano and Cal adjusted Triell on his lap, then stroked his fingers gently over the white keys of the piano gently, not yet making a sound with the piano. He hadn't played in weeks, but he still knew how to play quite well. He thought of a song to play, and his fingers started to move on their own. His fingers moved smoothly over the keys as he played. The alpha closed his eyes, letting the song flow from him. He loved this song. Kiss The Rain by Yiruma. The man was a music genius, and Cal loved all his piano pieces.
The song kept going, the alpha's fingers still moving flowingly over the keys of the piano. Cal was lost in the song, and he smiled a little as he kept playing. He was calmed down now, his nightmare just a memory. Literally, but also... Just a memory. His mind was distracted from it's horrors as he sat with Triell and played the piano. He felt perfectly at peace with every passing moment, hearing the song. Soon the song ended, and Cal puts his arms back around Triell. "Nobody ever hears me play. I take pride in my piano playing skills, but I'm afraid if people knew I played... I'd lose my Tough Guy rep..." He sighed softly and rested his chin on Triell's shoulder above the scar he had left on the beta's skin... NOTES: <3 |

The beta rested his head against Callum's chest, listening as his heart beat steadily -- calmly. He could feel himself growing calm, utterly silent and still as he listened to the melody. He watched through the corner of his eyes as the Alpha's fingers caressed the keys, the melody flowing into the room and wrapping around him like a warm embrace. Triell could feel the smile twitching at his lips, some of his cockiness coming back to him as the song lifted his spirits just so slightly. ""Nobody ever hears me play. I take pride in my piano playing skills, but I'm afraid if people knew I played... I'd lose my Tough Guy rep..." he heard Cal say softly as those warm arms wrapped back around him, and Triell couldn't help another small laugh because yeah -- he could totally understand that. Piano wasn't seen as some manly instrument -- and yet there were so many men who were absolute geniuses who played: Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, and so many more. "I'm glad you played for me..." whispers softly, "The piano may not be manly, but you've still got your rep with me." he chocked out a laugh and winked playfully at Cal, rubbing his eyes slightly. "You play amazingly." He pressed himself back into the warmth offered by the Alpha and smirked when he felt Cal's chin resting over the mark.
