Charlie stepped up onto the very edge of the overlook, taking in the scenic view before him; nestled amongst the trees and pastures stood the town of Converse, so small and insignificant compared to the nature around it. As if the town needed to look any punier, the stars hanging above spoke of a never ending universe. They looked ready to swallow the town up with their light. One particular star suddenly separated from the ranks and flew across the sky; shooting star. The omega's mouth gaped then fixed into a grin. He exhaled, his eyes pointed up to the sky. "Way better than California..."

Cal walked up behind Charlie, watching him quietly and smiling a litte. He loved his omega a lot. More than he loved the rest of the pack. He loved the touch of Charlie's skin. It's softness. It's perfection. He loved everything about Charlie. He made no sound as he walked closer. Like a ghost moving over the land. He looked up as Charlie did and saw the shooting star. "Make a wish, m'love." He said softly after hugging Charlie from behind, emerald eyes tracking the shooting star. And then, he made his own wish. "I wish for Charlie and I to be together. Forever." He smiled as he spoke the wish in his thoughts, not saying it aloud.

Cal's sudden appearance would have sent Charlie tumbling over the cliff if not for the alpha's strong arms wrapped around him. He wasn't sure whether or not to thank him for saving him, or to yell at Cal for nearly killing him. Unable to decide, Charlie resolved to just stare and grin dumbly at the other. A wish... The younger male's eyes drifted up to the stares above. Unlike Cal, he expressed his wish. "I wish that... you'll always love me." He flashed another smile up at Cal, looking for approval as always.

Cal chuckled softly and kissed Charlie's neck gently. "But you already have that. Try again." He teased lightly, resting the side of his face against Charlie's. He kept his arms around Charlie, loving how perfectly their bodies seemed to fit together. He closed his eyes. "And beyond forever." He added to his wish, wanting to be with Charlie even after they died. In the after life. He listened to the sound of Charlie's heart and breathing. And the wilderness around them. It was all so peaceful, and beautiful. And for the first time in years, Cal felt perfectly at peace with himself. And the world around him. Here he was free. Here he was home.

Charlie burst into a fit of childish giggles, as if he had received his very first kiss and didn't quite know how to take it. Cal did that to him a lot. He still couldn't believe that Cal - strong, awesome Cal - loved him and cared for him. "Are you critiquing my wish?" He poked the male's side and continued to grin from ear to ear. Eventually he glanced back up at the sky to reconsider his wish. "Well umm... then I wish that nothing would separate us. No hunters, no... drama, no nothing." He nodded his head with certainty and bounced on his heels, pleased with his revised wish.

The alpha nuzzles Charlie lovingly. "Well if you help me accomplish my wish, nothing ever will." He waited for the omega to respond before speaking again, and yes, changing his wish. "I know wolves don't normally.... Marry. They just mate. But... I want you to be mine in every way possible. My wish is for you to be my husband." He said softly, green eyes watching the stars above him. They were like billions of tiny lights of beauty, shining down on them. Mentally, he was begging Charlie to say yes. To agree to marry his alpha so they could truly be together. He kissed Charlie's cheek, awaiting an answer.

Charlie nuzzled Cal back and looked up at him with dark, yet intuitive eyes. "What's your wish?" His lips parted slightly in wonder as he waited to hear. When Cal spoke... Charlie swore he was going to fall off the cliff. His heart fluttered in his throat and painted the tops of his cheeks rosy. "H-husband?" His knees buckled and just about sent Charlie tumbling over the side of the overlook. He felt faint. He felt dizzy. He felt confused. Yet at the same time Charlie could feel immense joy and happiness welling up in his heart... he was just having trouble processing his thoughts along with his words.

Callum nodded. "Yes, husband. I know wolves don't normally marry... But...." Cal just wanted to be human. And marriage was a big thing in the lives of humans. He blinked when Charlie's knees buckled and he wrapped his arms around him securely, holding him and refusing to let him fall. "Easy there, easy easy. I gotcha." He chuckled softly "So yes.... No?" He hoped to god Charlie didn't say no. This was a big thing for Cal, and he feared rejection from Charlie above all other things. He watched the younger wolf, anxiously awaiting his answer as he listened to the night around them.

Charlie worried over his parents for awhile; would they be furious at him for going against tradition? Cal was right about many wolves not marrying, and the thought of becoming even more of a disgrace to his family... it scared him. It really scared him. But rather than focus on one terrible topic, Charlie's mind skipped to another; how could Cal really love him this much? The younger boy had always been a little wall flower, standing in the background and trying hard not to get stepped on in the process. Cal had showed him nothing but kindness (as far as Charlie was willing to admit) and now he - strong, handsome, amazing Cal - wanted to marry a lowly wolf like Charlie. And that simple thought was enough to surpass all worries regarding his family; he loved Cal too much for that. And he wanted to marry him. "Y-yeahuh..." Ever the eloquent one. Charlie felt like he might faint again.

The alpha smiled at Charlie when he said yes. He kept his arms around the omega in case he decided to faint or fall over. Tenderly, Cal pressed his lips to Charlie's and nuzzled him lovingly. "I love you, Charlie." Callum smiled. "I always have. I always will. Forever and always." He whispered and hugged Charlie. He didn't know how it even happened. If meeting Charlie was just a coincidence, or fate. Destiny. Whatever you wanted to call it. Cal couldn't believe it. But at the moment, he didn't care how these two came to meet, destiny or coincidence. He was just happy to have Charlie in his life.
