Carson didn't have any trouble finding the house tucked deep in the forest outside of town. He also didn't have any trouble identifying exactly what it was. A pack house. It still send an itch crawling down between his shoulder blades to be here, but it had to be done. Exposing werewolves would be a bad thing for everyone involved. Of course, that didn't mean he was comfortable being surrounded by his own kind. He tried not to let it show as he stood outside, keeping his distance. They'd know he was here. He raised his voice just slightly, though it was probably unnecessary. "I'd like to speak to your alpha."

Yeah, J knew the stranger was there alright and he didn't like it. A pack house was sacred land for pack only. Strangers weren't exactly welcome, especially not right now. But, J was raised to keep the secret at all costs. He was raised very closely with humans and part of playing their game, of blending in was choking down all the frustration and wolfish reactions and pasting a smile on your face. Well, J couldn't manage the smile but he could at least manage to be friendly. Stepping outside at the sound of the voice, J stood himself on the porch, glancing down at the man standing there. "That would be me. How can I help you?"

It could be said that Carson had a bit of an alpha personality, which was true. So when the pack's alpha stepped out onto the porch, Carson instinctively tensed. It wasn't a meeting of equals, exactly. Far from it in his mind. But it was a meeting of strangers, and he knew he probably wasn't welcome here. Well, he wasn't staying long. He didn't want to be here in the first place. He also didn't move any closer. There was no telling what this alpha was capable of, though he looked to be in good shape. "I'm just here to warn you. You may have heard, or you may not have. The united states government has gotten wind of the rumors in Converse after that nice little eclipse awhile back." That eclipse that had given him hope that he was somehow human again before snatching it all away again. "You and your pack should be careful. I work for the CIA, so I'll try to keep them off you from my end." And really that was all he could do. Not much of a choice, really.

He heard bits and pieces of rumors around town as he was moving around but nothing solid or confirmed. And now this agent is showing up on his doorstep with an official warning. Wonderful. Still, he smiled just a bit to be friendly and nodded. "I appreciate the warning. I'll pass it along to my family, as well." And he looked the man up and down. He's honestly amused by the idea of a werewolf working for the government. "How do you pull that off?" It's not said in any kind of mocking way. That was genuine curiosity. How would someone like him, being what he is, have that kind of job? How does he manage to blend in that well? "CIA, huh? Sound to me like you could teach us all a thing or two about being covert. I have to ask...how do you hold that job...being what you are?"

When the alpha said he appreciated the warning, Carson gave him a nod that borderlined on respect. The alpha might not trust him, and Carson might not trust any werewolf, but where the government was concerned, they had at least one mutual goal. Keep the secret. There was no telling what his superiors would do if they found out that a naturally violent, intelligent species had been living among them in secret since the dawn of time. All hell would break loose. In any case, it was time to go. He turned to leave, but the alpha spoke again, questioning. It was a moment before he answered, his voice soft and full of loathing. "I hate what I am. So when you think about it, it's not all that hard to blend in." He guessed he just acted more human than most. He turned to face the alpha once more, his tone softening just a bit around the edges. "Or maybe the government is just impressed with my results without asking too many questions about how I get it." And really, that's all there was to it.
