MAYBE I'M A DIFFERENT BREED
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]— The drive to the Ranch didn't seem to take long. Though she was sure it was a bit of time. When one enjoyed the ride, nothing seemed bad. And she was definitely good with the company that she had at the moment. She glanced over to the male beside her as he turned into the drive way of the Ranch he called his home. She was interested in him, she wanted to know everything about him. The things he kept secrets, the small things that made him smile, what made him tick. Everything. He caught her attention almost immediately, and even though he knew she was a Hunter, he seemed to give her a chance. He didn't snarl at her or try to snap at her in any way. He was civil about it, he acted... human so to speak. One didn't exactly meet people like that every day. Werewolves hated hunters. Most Hunters hated Werewolves. Just the way that things were done normally.
But she wasn't just any Hunter. Her thoughts behind that whole world were different than those of her fathers. She didn't think that she should go around, killing people because their simply not like them. Because bottom line was that Werewolves were just like humans. They had families, they had to support them. They love, and hate, and feel things like everyone did. So she felt going around, raising hell was just completely and totally uncalled for. She believed that if they kept to themselves and didn't go around killing innocent people, then they were no harm. Which is probably why she found herself hanging around the Werewolf beside her. And the fact that she found him incredibly attractive was only a benefit of that. And today, she was heading to his home. River was a bit nervous to be completely honest, she wasn't sure what to expect. But she knew it wasn't going to be a bad thing.
As they drove, he told her about his wolf pack that is there, and she immediately wanted to meet them. Baking the pie could wait a bit, she wanted to see how they acted with her. How regular wolves would act with a Werewolf. Plus she was convinced that it was going to be super cute when they interacted. She felt the grin growing on her face already. Piers parked his truck and walked around to let her out. "What a gentleman. They certainly don't make them like him anymore," she thought as she unbuckled herself and hopped out of the car once he opened the door. River smiled and said, "Thank you." She wanted to grab him and kiss him again. They had only truly kissed one time, but she felt like she could wait a bit longer. She didn't want to come across as clingy or anything. They weren't really "together" or in a relationship. At least they hadn't spoke about it. They just have been around each other and enjoying each others company as time has gone by.
Her blue eyes took in the Ranch and the area around it and it felt homey. Comfortable. But everything about Piers seemed that way as it was. He seemed like the kind of guy that wouldn't mind her "lazy" days, when she would curl up in sweat pants and messy hair and just watch movies. Though, she still had to learn that about him. She made a mental note to add that to the ever growing list of "Things to Find Out About Piers". Her outfit wasn't anything stunning. Just a pair of jeans, flats, and a see through black baggy shirt. She was comfortable, and her hair was its normal wavy mane. Make up was very neutral, though she did have her cat eye look with her eye liner going on today.

Piers chuckled to himself quietly as she hopped out of his truck; River was probably one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen in his entire life. He didn't even know how the both of them had actually started speaking, especially with her being a hunter, but the two of them got along like a house on fire, which was particularly surprising considering their two very different lives. It got Piers wondering if she had ever killed a werewolf before, but he pushed the question to the back of his mind, because, in all honesty, it didn't matter to him... all that mattered to Piers was their current situation, which seemed to be going very well. He was happy that the two had both decided to take a chance in getting to know each other, and he closed the truck door behind her. "You're very welcome" he replied cheerfully, before tapping her arm and beckoning her to follow him. He had always been taught to treat ladies with respect, and since he had grown up in a very different time than the present, where manners were actually important, he had stuck with them.
They were going to head over to the wolves first, who were still howling out loudly for Piers to come home to them. He gave another howl back, which was met by several more howls from the wolves. He turned the corner around the side of the ranch, and the paddock came in to sight. Immediately at his arrival, the wolves began jumping up and squeaking in excitement at seeing their master return, and Piers couldn't help but grin like a proud parent. The wolves were his life; he had bred all of them and helped the mothers raise them all, every single one of them in the enclosure had been raised by Piers single-handedly. They were his absolute pride and joy.
As he got to the entrance, he half-turned to look over his shoulder at River. "I'll go in first. I will tell you when you are okay to come in; if we come in together, they are going to take you as a threat to my safety and attack. However, if you come in after, they will consider you more like a 'guest'." Piers smiled at her, happy that she was so interested in his wolves. "And don't worry, i'll tell you what to do"
And with that, he turned back to the large metal gate and opened it, barely getting through and closing it before 6 adult wolves bounded over and tackled him to the floor, smothering the man in kisses and nuzzling. "Woah, boy!" Piers laughed out loud, as one shoved his head under Piers' arm and tried pushing him back up again. "Hello babies! Daddy missed you all, yes he did! Vixen, stop pushing, you'll get your turn! and Boomer, stop nibbling my shirt!" This excitement lasted another couple of minutes as he rolled around the floor with them, and finally, when they began to calm down a bit, he stood up and nodded over at River.
"Okay, come on in now, but be sure to be slow" He smiled at her, beckoning her in. One of the wolves immediately trotted over to her, eyeing the new addition curiously. "That one is called Lady. She's very gentle. What I want you to do is kneel down in front of her and slowly put your nose against her nose" Piers chuckled again as another wolf, Boomer, made his way over to take a look at the newcomer. He stayed a bit further back than what Lady did, sniffing the air to take in the new scent.

MAYBE I'M A DIFFERENT BREED
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]— "You're very welcome" She loved the way he smiled. It lit up his whole face when he showed off his white teeth. He had a great smile, and she couldn't help but smile back at him whenever he did. She followed him after he tapped her arm, keeping close enough to him that she wouldn't get lost. As they walked, she looked around her. It was really interesting to see where he worked, what he was around every day. And when they rounded the corner to the wolves, she had to laugh. They were jumping with joy to see their Alpha. She glanced up at Piers, and felt her grin grow wide at the look on his face. It was one of pure pride and joy. He seemed to be just as excited as them to see them. She didn't even have to ask if they were special to him, she could tell just by the way he looked at them. Which made her that more excited to meet them.
Piers looked over his shoulder at her before he said, "I'll go in first. I will tell you when you are okay to come in; if we come in together, they are going to take you as a threat to my safety and attack. However, if you come in after, they will consider you more like a 'guest'. And don't worry, i'll tell you what to do." She nodded before she turned her attention to the wolves inside the cage. They were just wagging around. It was hard to believe that they were wild animals that were capable of ripping her face off if she made the wrong move when inside the cage with them. Which made her think "What the hell are you doing?" but she shook the thought away as they all pounced on Piers and showered him with love. He laughed and shouted to them, and she wondered if they really understood what he was saying, but then again, didn't everyone talk to their pets like that?
She laughed at them rolling around with Piers. She knew he was a playful person, especially for being seventy two and all, but this was almost a different playful. He seemed more relaxed and more... like Piers. She had the biggest grin on her face as they played for several minutes, and she got lost in watching them that she was taken off guard when Piers turned to her and said, "Okay, come on in now, but be sure to be slow," which made her hesitate. River pushed her hair behind her ears and then reached for the gate and slowly pulled it open. As soon as she secured the gate behind her, a wolf was already headed in her direction. She relaxed, not wanting to seem tense and skiddish around the wolf. If there was one thing she knew, it was that a tense person made animals nervous. River also made sure to stare into the wolf's eyes. Also, not a good thing. It was a challenge.
"That one is called Lady. She's very gentle. What I want you to do is kneel down in front of her and slowly put your nose against her nose" River's eyes snapped up to him and went a little wide. She glanced down as another wolf slowly approached but kept his distance. "You want me to put my face, in her face?" She questioned softly. But before he could answer, she was slowly kneeling down, steadying herself with her hands until she was comfortable. She took a deep breath before slowly leaning forward, keeping her eyes on the wolfs nose, watching for any twitching of the wolves lips to indicate that the wolf was going to bite her face off. She licked her lips nervously before lightly touching her nose to Lady's cool nose.

Piers grinned broadly as he watched River do as he said, his hands running through the jet black fur on Vixen's back. For a girl who hunted these creatures, she actually seemed a little bit frightened, which surprised Piers. He had never imagined her to be dubious, yet the fact that she was actually doing it was remarkably brave.
"Don't worry, she won't bite" Piers said quietly, as Lady's tail dropped from being alert to rest between her hind legs. The wolf sniffed at Rivers face, whiskers brushing against River's own cheeks, before huffing out and brushing her forehead against River's arm, nuzzling in to it. Piers chuckled. "She likes you. What she's doing is just scent-marking, basically marking you with the scent of her own pack. That way, the other wolves know not to harm you. She's looking out for you"
He chuckled as Lady pulled away and looked over at Piers, as if to ask if she had done well, and Piers whistled her over. Boomer was next to take a look at the guest, and he spent a bit longer than Lady did, sniffing and taking in her scent. He started at her arm, and then glided his nose over her face, before finishing off on her right leg. The wolf then brought his nuzzle up to her face and gave her a big lick on his smooth tongue, before running back over to Piers.
"Well, it looks like you're now an honorary member of their pack. Congratulations." Piers couldn't help but smile, making his way over to River. He glided his hands up her arms and licked her cheek, much like Boomer had, before bursting out laughing. He then brought his thumb up and wiped it across her forehead, Lion King style. "Simbaaaa"

MAYBE I'M A DIFFERENT BREED
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]— Even though River was face to face with something that could possibly harm her. She knew that she wasn't in any real danger. Piers wouldn't put her in a spot where she would get hurt. At least, from what she could tell about him, he wasn't that kind of person. He seemed to enjoy her being around. Unless this was the ruse to get her here to feed his pack. But of course that was completely ridiculous. As she pushed that thought out of her head, she saw Lady's tail drop and her nose began to twitch. Breathing in and out, taking in her scent as she remained motionless as the wolf observed her. River heard Piers say "Don't worry, she won't bite" somewhere behind the wolf, but she didn't move her lips to respond. Instead, she stayed focused on the wolf. With any sign, she was ready to push away or lunge forward. But the wolf seemed to accept her in. Her blue eyes relaxed as the wolf brushed her forehead against her arm.
"She likes you. What she's doing is just scent-marking, basically marking you with the scent of her own pack. That way, the other wolves know not to harm you. She's looking out for you," Piers told her. She looked up at him at that point and grinned. Even with her family, she felt like a bit of an outsider. She didn't share the same views as her parents did, hell her father and her fought all the time. It was the main reason that she had a hard time wanting to go visit them for long periods of time. He would always try to push her buttons and after a while, she would snap and then a huge fight would start between them. And her mother would of course try to step between and cool the fire. But rarely did it work, most the time it just turned into "you are taking his/her side!" and it would make it turn into a three person fight more then just the two. So her mother has learned to just keep out of it and let them scream it out.
So when this wolf accepted her, she couldn't help the warmth that spread through her heart. She fit in. For once. The other wolf came up as well, sniffing her as he seemed more curious than the first one. He took a longer time, and she was hoping it was only because he was more cautious. And that it wasn't the fact that she smelled or anything. She made sure that she smelled good before she left the house today, knowing that she was going to spend some time with Piers. She didn't want to scare him off by smelling bad or anything. So she showered. Twice. Just don't ask her, cause she will deny that till the end. River just knew that Werewolves had a stronger sense of smell, as well as a lot of other things. So what she couldn't smell, he could. She was brought out of her thoughts as a warm tongue ran its way across her face, and she couldn't help but crack a small grin. It was like he gave her a big, wet kiss.
"Well, it looks like you're now an honorary member of their pack. Congratulations." River raised her eyebrows and smiled. "Never thought I would say I was part of one. But I honestly couldn't have picked a better one," She said as she smiled up to him. She would definitely want to be in a pack with Piers. She wasn't very submissive when it came to things. She liked to do her own thing, but she didn't think the idea of having to listen to him would be so bad. And she lightly blushed as her mind took a small turn into a dirty place. She shook her head before looking up at him approaching her. She watched him with curious, big blue eyes as he ran his hands over her arms. She felt small goosebumps raise where he had touched her, and she felt her skin come alive under his touch. It was insane. The things that he did to her. The feelings that would spark up inside of her.
And then she felt his tongue hit her cheek. She froze for a moment, not sure what to think of it as his tongue glided down her cheek and then he lifted his hand up, tracing his thumb across her forehead. And before he even said it, she knew what was coming next. "Simbaaaa," His laugh was contagious, so she wasn't able to keep a mad face for long. Before she realized it, she was laughing with him, her white teeth showing and laughter echoing around. She controlled herself long enough to lean forward and lick him from the very corner of his lip to his cheek, before pressing her nose to his and then sitting back on her butt. She folded her legs under her, criss cross apple sauce style and she watched him curiously. For being as old as he was, he was a playful guy. And even though she wasn't exactly a child, she was glad that he wasn't a boring older man. He actually had a personality and even though he had 50 or so years on her, she felt like she wasn't a child around him.
River let her eyes dance over his features, taking in how truly handsome he was. She wanted to get to know every inch of him. She wanted to memorize the pattern of his skin, and she hoped that he would give her enough time to do just that. See, River has never had that great of luck with guys. She would seem to find someone who liked her, and she would start to really start liking them. And then suddenly it was like a switch flipped in them. Either they didn't talk to her anymore, or they told her that they didn't want to see her anymore. Most of the time it was because she didn't want to just sleep with them right off the bat. She wanted to sleep with them when she was ready. That or after some time, they would find some girl who was more attractive or most easy and would ditch her for them. So she was somewhat cautious of people. Yet, for some reason, she felt way different about Piers.
She didn't think he would be the one to just up and leave her. Especially if he was trusting her with knowing his secret and trusting her enough to bring her to his Ranch. And the fact that he was willing to let her meet what was like his pack, and them meet her. She was just taken back by him, and did it scare her? Yeah, it did. But only a little bit. Because she was going with her gut from now, and she was just living in the moment.

Piers chuckled when River retaliated with a lick of her own, and couldn't help but grin like a fool after the laughter ceased. She was perhaps one of the most beautiful people he had ever come across in his 72 years of living. He sighed happily, taking in her brown hair and delicate features; her smile was one that was simply infectious, and even though he had never seen River in any other social situation than with him, he had a feeling that, her showing this vulnerable side to him was certainly something special. It felt that way, any way.
Piers couldn't help but grin massively when she said she was proud to be a part of the wolf pack. He chuckled, as Boomer and Vixen began play-fighting behind them both. Moving his head forward slowly, he brought their lips together in a gentle yet firm kiss, his eyes closed. She tasted and smelled so good... she was just so sweet that he felt she could give him a cavity. He grinned, nodding. "They will now expect to see you pretty much every day, you know" Which totally meant that River had to come see them as often as she possibly could, something which made him very happy to think about. "Not that i'm complaining, of course! I'd love to se-"
Piers was cut off talking by the sudden yapping of a baby wolf that came running out of the small wooden enclosure a few metres away from the entrance. It bounded towards Piers and River in excitement at not only seeing Piers, but also a new person that had the same scent as the pack. Stumbling over its legs clumsily, it ran straight in to rivers leg. Piers chuckled, as the mother wolf came over calmly, following her baby. Piers looked at them both proudly, before glancing at River.
"This is Nara" He gestured towards the mother wolf, who gently sat down a couple of meters away from them whilst her baby jumped at Rivers legs, trying to get her to play. "And the baby still hasn't been named yet.. he's a playful one for sure." Sudden idea. "Hey, why don't you name him?" Piers grinned at River. What better way to welcome her to the pack than to have her name one of the babies?
Piers bent over and picked the wolf cub up, holding his arms out for River to take him. The cub reached its head forward to look properly at River, and, deciding she was good, started yelping for her to take him.

MAYBE I'M A DIFFERENT BREED
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]— She glanced over as two of the wolves started playing. They were pouncing on each other and nipping their teeth. Even a little growling came from the two but she could tell it was nothing aggressive. There was no ears pinned or snapping teeth or deep growls. Just little nips and pounces, and tales a wagging. She grinned for a moment, though her attention was immediately turned back to Piers as she noticed he got a little closer to her. Her blue eyes snapped back up at him and she held her breath a little as she realized what was about to happen. Her heart starting beating fast and she felt the butterflies in her stomach turn into birds from how hard they were beating their wings. Was she ready for this kiss? The first time they kissed, she wasn't sure what was going to happen. But it was amazing and she couldn't wait to do it again. But now that she was faced with it again, she was suddenly nervous. But a very good nervous.
As his lips connected with hers, she swore she just melted. And not because he was running at a higher temperature than her. He was surprisingly soft and from up close he smelled amazing. She kissed him back eagerly and even went as far as reaching up and tangling a hand into his hair. Which was soft and that made her want to tug on it and play with it. But she restrained herself, especially as he pulled away from the kiss. Her cheeks were slightly flushed as Piers spoke to her. "They will now expect to see you pretty much every day, you know," The grin on his face spoke enough but he seemed to need to confirm it as he continued speaking. "Not that I'm complaining, of course! I'd love to se-" She was grinning right along with him. So he wanted to see her more often. That made her extremely happy because she wanted to see him as much as she could. It would be hard enough when she would have to work and then family visits. Obviously she would keep him away from them as much as possible.
His speech was cut off though as a little yapping started. River turned her head to see a little wolf trying his hardest to get over to them at top speed. Though it was obvious he was still a young one, learning how to use his legs and such. He didn't seem to know how to stop, so instead used her leg as a bumper. She laughed a little, though didn't bend over to pet or pick him up, seeing as the mother was starting to walk over. Even though the pack had accepted her in, doesn't mean that the mother wolf would be very trusting with a new member. She decided it would be best for her if she didn't do anything rash until Piers gave her the okay. As the mother sat down a few paces away from them, Piers introduced her, "This is Nara." River swore the wolves ears twitched at her name, as if suddenly paying attention to what they were saying now that her name was brought into it. Typical women.
"And the baby still hasn't been named yet.. he's a playful one for sure. Hey, why don't you name him? |
[/i]" River looked at him with a bit of a shocked look, but her smile broke it very quickly. She felt like that was a big deal. This little guy would be stuck with the name she gave him for the rest of his life. And thats what he would be known as to Piers and any other workers that were around and close with the wolves. And thats what he would be know as to her. As Piers held out the little wolf, the little guy seemed so excited for her to get her hands on him. He was barking at her and pawing at the air for her. She had to laugh at that. How in the world could you not be completely in love with the little guy already? He was the cutest thing she had seen and she willingly took him into her arms. He seemed over joyed and worked his way up to licking her neck and face, showing her all kinds of love. River's blue hues looked up at Piers and she smiled at him. " I think I could get used to seeing these guys almost every day," she stated before looking back at the little wolf. He had now taken to nuzzling her as she petted his head and neck, cuddling him close to her chest. She was a sucker for babies, of any kind. As she thought about a name, she thought about something that she doesn't share with anyone. The only people who knew about it, were her family members. The little hunter here, was actually an amazing Piano player. So she thought about musical terms and finally came up with a name. " Coda?" She looked up to Piers, seeing if he was for the name or not. She felt like she needed to explain it though, because if not it just seemed like some random name. " In musical talk, Coda is primarily used to designate a passage that brings a piece or a movement to an end." She suddenly blushed lightly though. Maybe he would hate it. " I can come up with something else if you don't like it though," These were his wolves. So she still had to respect the "alpha" and his word was final say. She knew the way that they worked. She had to study wolves during her time being home schooled, so she was sure that Piers would be a bit shocked on how well she knew how things worked amongst the pack. ]\[/div][/center][/td][/tr][/table] credit to cranberr23 of caution.[/center]

Piers chuckled at the shocked look on River's face when he asked her if she wanted to name then new baby. It was a big deal, yes, because they were Piers' life, pretty much, but he wanted to get her involved in it as much as what he possibly could. Despite the girl being a hunter, he had absolutely no doubts in trusting her at all, and in fact felt that he could confide in her his deepest secrets; not that he was going to just yet, of course, because he didn't want to scare her away... but he knew that if he had to tell her something, she would listen to it and not pass judgement.
Piers' face lit up at the name, and he couldn't help but break out in a beaming smile. "I love it" He said, before River even had any time to explain what the name meant; he knew what it meant anyway, as he had studied a couple of instruments (piano and harp, to be completely specific) in his many years of living. He cocked any eyebrow at her explanation, and then couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm guessing you play an instrument of some sort, not just anybody would know a term like that" Piers watched on happily as the cub bounced up in River's arms and planted kisses all over her face and neck. "Hmmm, Coda" he said thoughtfully, bending slightly so his face was in line with the cubs. "What do you think, boy?" He grinned when Coda planted several kisses to his chin, accompanied by a happy excited whine. Piers glanced back up at River, his smile reaching from ear to ear. "Well, he loves it and so do I"
Standing back up straight, he brought his hand up to characteristically scratch the back of his head subconsciously. "Y'know, I love those names that you never hear anywhere else" He chuckled. "That's probably why all of my wolves have such odd names. There's another three somewhere around" He glanced over the enclosure, attempting to find them, but figured they must have been sleeping inside the small house that was under the large oak tree in the middle of the enclosure. "Yara, Neon and Mitzie must be asleep at the moment"
He turned quickly as Boomer began barking behind him, his teeth bared and nipping at Vixen, who was lying on the floor, completely submissive. "UHM!" Piers said, authority resonating throughout his voice, and it was accompanied by an animalistic warning growl. "None of that. I've told you before, when you play, no teeth" He glared, his eyes glowing in their wolfy state, as Boomer immediately got up and walked a few steps away from Vixen, who shook her head and pounced on the other wolves back, attacking him with her head rather than her teeth. The two began play fighting again, and Piers turned back to River with a chuckle. "Y'know, they really are worse than a load of children some times"

MAYBE I'M A DIFFERENT BREED
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]— River already loved the little guy in her arms. She wanted to just take him home with her and have him as her companion. Though as she glanced over at his mother, she was sure that the mother would rip her arms off if she so much as made an attempt to run with her baby. She was pretty sure that she could handle it though. Especially if she could carry her own weight against werewolves. You know, wolves three times the size of normal wolves? Yeah, those wolves. But she wouldn't want to do anything that would hurt one of Piers wolves. So she would just have to let the little guy go and just come visit him a lot. which was just fine with her, because visiting the little man mean that she could come visit his alpha. Which also seemed to be named Piers. Though she started to like the idea of calling him Alpha. And she imagined that maybe he would like it. Just coming from her though.
"I love it," He told her even before she finished her explanation. Though she still said it, figuring he wouldn't know what a Coda was. Though she turned to be the one somewhat surprised when he responded with, "I'm guessing you play an instrument of some sort, not just anybody would know a term like that." She flushed slightly, though she hoped she could get it to go away quickly. Focusing on the pup in her arms. She wasn't sure at first if she wanted to tell him. It's not something you would take a hunter to play. For someone with a violent job, you'd expect them to play drums, or guitar, or something like that. And her? She just played the piano. She bit the corner of her lip before turning her blue eyes back to him. "I can play the piano... but I'm not that great." Okay, thats a lie. She was damn good at it. But she was never one to toot her own horn with her musical side. Because there was always room for major improvement.
"Hmmm, Coda. What do you think, boy?" She laughed as the little guy started slobbering all over the man in front of her. Obviously over joyed that he was getting more attention than just hers. She tightened her grip on him a little as he wiggled around, not wanting to drop the little guy or anything. Because then she would just feel absolutely horrible. As Piers glanced up at her, she felt the butterflies in her stomach go wild again. Those eyes... That smile. It was almost too much for her to handle. She almost didn't even hear him say, "Well, he loves it and so do I." It actually took her a few seconds before a slow grin broke over her features. She nuzzled the little guy before leaning down and placing the newly named Coda on the ground. He stumbled for a moment, before bounding over to his mother. He seemed content with just nuzzling her and licking her muzzle. River watched over him for a few moments before Piers spoke again.
"Y'know, I love those names that you never hear anywhere else. That's probably why all of my wolves have such odd names. There's another three somewhere around. Yara, Neon and Mitzie must be asleep at the moment." She looked around with Piers but didn't spot any wolves she hadn't met yet. She wondered how they would act with her. And as she thought about it, she thought about how it was weird that the three others wouldn't come over and see that there was a new scent. Or that their alpha was there to see them and spend some time with them. She didn't ponder on it too much because soon the two wolves who were play fighting, well they didn't seem like they were playing anymore. "UHM!None of that. I've told you before, when you play, no teeth." The growl that was accompanied by that statement actually made her lean a little away from him. She tried to cover it up by rocking on her feet but she wasn't sure how well she did it.
Her instincts kicked in when he growled for a moment. She wanted to back away, widen her stance so she was solidly planted on the ground, and grab her gun. Though the gun wasn't exactly on her hip. Just a pocket knife was on her in her pocket. She quickly slapped that reaction out of her. She knew it wasn't towards her. But it made her remember, he was not human. He was a dangerous creature. A werewolf. She knew he wouldn't hurt her, but then again, she didn't know what he was like in wolf form. She had met a few wolves that were three times as aggressive and nasty when changed. She just hoped that wasn't true for Piers. River was pulled from her thoughts when she heard him speak again. "Y'know, they really are worse than a load of children some times." She was able to grin at that at least. She could picture them as children, which made her laugh a little.
River stepped forward to be closer to Piers just in case he did see her brief moment of being tense. She didn't want him to think she was afraid of him. Because she wasn't. She reached her hand forward and brushed her finger tips over his cheek. She was light about her contact before she playfully pinched his cheek and growled as best as her human voice could. She smirked at him, as if to say, "Ha! I can do it to," Before she stood up on her toes, making her almost eye level with him. She let her smile widen for a second before she leaned forward and took his bottom lip between her teeth and bit it lightly. She growled playfully again before releasing it and laughing, stepping back quickly to try and avoid any thing he might retaliate with.
