He hated being still for long periods of time. He would swear that he was slowly going insane with the immobility and being isolated within one room. When he used to get sick as a child it was almost like world war three would break out within the house as his parents, and later his mother, would try to get him to rest. At one point he had been threatened that he would get tied to his bed if he didn’t lay still and do as he was told. Even today as an adult he hated being confined. Sure it wasn’t like he was being confined to a single room, however after a while being confined to his own apartment he swore it was just as bad as being confined to his room as a child.
After spending several days with what he would affectionately call death Leo was starting to feel a bit more like himself. If he was honest with himself he was starting to feel better than he had been before. The nausea, vomiting and the fever had finally paused. The only thing he had left of his symptoms was just the aches and slight fatigue. Leo had dubbed that aches and fatigue didn’t qualify as enough to get himself locked within his apartment. So after a nice hot shower and some clean clothing he grabbed his wallet and cell phone before making his way out of his apartment and down onto the streets.
Standing outside his apartment building he turned in a circle a few times just to get a feel of the location. He hadn’t been able to look around his new home all that much and was eager to see what the tiny town had to offer. Turning right he decided to head in what looked like a residential area before turning left down another street that had some shops line on one side of the street. Doing a bit of window shopping he continued on through the town before turning down a few more streets. Leo made a small mental note to remember where the ice cream shop was. If he wasn’t feeling too tired after his walk he would be retracing his steps to get himself some ice cream before making his way back home.
At the thought of some frozen treat his stomach gave a small rumble. Chuckling lightly to himself he made his way over to where he had seen the signs for a Diner. After upchucking all of the food he had attempted to eat the past few days jumping right into ice cream probably wouldn’t sit too well with him. Tea and some solid food would be really nice now that he got thinking about it. Walking into the Diner he quickly ordered himself some hot tea before deciding on a cold cut sandwich and some fries. Of course he had accidentally called them chips at first before quickly correcting his mistake. He got his tea first and thanked the waitress before pouring the hot water into a small cup and placing the tea bag and patiently waiting as he glanced out the window and stared out across to the park.

Damp hair pinned up in a bun, the young woman was taking her time getting to her destination: food at the diner. After a full night of baking the night before and a solid morning of snowboarding down some of the hills near Converse, the young woman really just was not in the mood to do any more cooking at the moment especially when the diner was convenient and had such delicious American food. Smiling and nodding to the odd person she passed by, she stuffed her hands in the pockets of her jacket and fished around for her phone. It wasn't often her parents called her (given the time difference between Converse and Japan) but once in awhile they surprised her and she hadn't really bothered checking it while she was out on the hill. All cleaned up now and with nothing on her plate for the rest of the day, now as good a time as any to check while she walked. Her nose, and other senses, had finally grown accustom to the small town and it's various smells. While it wasn't as intense as the ones back home, the intense smell of wolves had been overwhelming. She hadn't been aware there were so many more like her, and in one place no less! Not that it seemed to be a good thing lately with so many new faces popping up here and there. Sticking her phone back in her pocket, she glanced up at the door to the diner and smiled. Walking in, she inhaled deeply and grinned as the smell of deep fryers and American home-style cooking surrounded her. Pushing her sunglasses up off her face and on top of her head, she headed for an empty spot at the counter when the unimaginable happened. With a thud, Rin hit the floor and just stared ahead for a moment. Had that really just happened? Really? For all her reflexes, she'd just tripped over her own two feet?! Casually, she stood up and brushed herself off, trying to act like it hadn't happened... or at least it had been partially intentional. | [atrb=width,140] words , ### words

The longer Leo sat in the diner, it seemed the more he was able to pick up on different smells. For instances he could tell that the person sitting at least two booths in front of him was wearing some strange perfume that made him want to write to the company about the possibility of discontinuing the brand. Honestly hadn’t the lady realized that she had sprayed on way too much of the stuff when she was at home? If she wished to suffocate herself that was all fine and dandy, but she could have at least been considerate to those around her. He was also able to pick up on the fresh smell of grease from the kitchen that made him somewhat nauseous. Although he was quick to conclude that the reason his sense of smell was slightly altered was due to having the flu the last few days. Colds and flu’s always threw the body off until the bug was completely out of the system…right?
Glancing down at his tea cup he smiled lightly when he noted that he water was considerably darker than it had been a few minutes ago which indicated that his tea was now ready to drink. Lifting the porclean cup up he took a quick sip before coughing slightly. “Hot.” He muttered to himself as he blew gently into his cup before taking another sip. Ah…much better now. He glanced up at the waitress as she finally brought him his cold cut club sandwich and his French fries. Muttering a small thank you to her he took a large bite of his sandwich before practically drooling at the taste of the meats. Alright maybe he was a bit hungrier than he had originally thought. Taking another bite of his sandwich he was about halfway through chewing before picking up a few fries reading himself from the delicious crispy treat.
He was just about halfway to his mouth with the fries when the sound of someone smacking the floor next to him cause him to jump in his seat and drop his fries to the floor. With a small pout he glanced at the now ruined fries before kicking them to the booth in front of him. Nope he didn’t drop anything. Leo then glanced at the reason why he had jumped and lost his first tasty bite of his chips. Moving slightly in his seat he reached out to assist the women stand up a small look of concern crossing his features. “Are you alright?” He asked as he slowly slid from his seat to better assist the women.

Well done Rin, you brilliant girl you. Rin scowled herself as she was picking herself up. All she could do was hope no one had been paying attention but she wouldn't be so lucky as a voice echoed in her ears that was not her own. She paled a little in embarrassment. "Oh, uh, yea... I'm okay. I think." Even better way to start the afternoon, trip less than five feet into the diner AND be spotted by someone in the process of doing it. Giving the gentleman a weak smile she bowed her head. "Thank-you. I don't know what's wrong with me today. Normally I know how to walk." She gave a small chuckle at her own sad joke.
Straigtening up, she put pressure down on her left ankle and caught herself before it decided to give out. "Ah!" Great. A trip and a sprain. "Maybe not so good." Sitting at the table, she wiggle her boot off and rolled down her sock to see the ankle. Slight bruising. Not a bad sprain but bad enough for the moment. Rin frowned a little. Fantastic, just what she needed. Shaking her head to herself, she caught sight of the food and remembered where she was. "Oh! I'm sorry." She blushed a little. "Are you sitting here?" She pointed between the kind fellow who'd helped her up and the plate. Had she really just interrupted his meal and stolen a seat at his booth?? Oh how rude of her.

He smiled lightly as the female tried to laugh and joke off her small tumble. “This place really that good? Never seen anyone trip over themselves for food.” He stated with a small chuckle, as he readily kept a hand close to the women so that should she loose her footing again he could at least attempt to keep her standing. Just as he was about to lower his own hand it seemed that she would lurch forward once again. Although this time the woman caught herself, however a look of concern quickly spread over his features. Leo remained standing as the woman took his recently deserted seat and inspected her own ankle. From what he could tell it didn’t look all that bad of an injury.
“If you keep your boot on, it should keep the swelling down to a minimum.” He said as he pointed lightly at the bruised ankle. He blinked a few times when she started to a apologize before turning to look at the plate she was pointing at. He smiled lightly as he held up his hands and took the seat across from her. “Its fine really.” He said with a small chuckle and smile. “Unlike the rest of the people in here I can ignore a meal if someone forgets how to walk for a few seconds.” He reached over and pulled his plate towards himself before waving down the waitress. “Can you get her some ice for her ankle and..” he turned his attention back to Rin. “Would you like something to eat and drink?”

Rin giggled a wee bit and gave the guy an embarrased smile. "The food is pretty awesome. Probably just more excited for it than usual after a full day of snowboarding." Or she really was just a clutzy wolf today. Any excuse was as good as any other at the moment though as long as she wasn't being thought of as an idiot.
It took a moment for Rin's brain to register he was talking to her after she sat down and even a minute more to realize what he was saying. Looking up from the light bruising that was starting to form, she heard ice, boot on and from there it kind of clicked. "Oh. Ah, right." slipping her boot back on she smiled. "That would make sense." It would also prevent people from telling if healed at a quicker rate than normal. "Thank you, again. Apparently I'm a bit of a space case today." She mused with a bit of a laugh Was there anything she could do to make herself look like a SMART ASIAN today... probably not.
Accepting the ice from the waitress, she smiled. "Some tea... and chicken tenders please." Scooting closer to the wall, she propped her foot up on the seat, wiggling just enough of her foot out of the boot to ice the ankle. "I'm Rin by the way." She offered, extending her hand across the table. If she was going to interrupt and invade his table, she might as well introduce herself to her impromptu lunch partner.
