[atrb=border,0,true] betrayal in blood Anger bubbled hot to the surface as Connie strode across the front lawn of the Lupus Virtus pack house, her fury obvious by the high color in her cheeks, and her eyes that flashed constantly from gold to their human brown and back again as she struggled with her famous control. She saw where blood had been spilled on the ground, smelled it before she had seen it, really. It was only a little bit, but she knew it was Angel’s. And she smelled Andy too, though both of their scents were fading fast. Instead, the smell of her uncle Gregory was strong and cloying to her nose. She reached the front door and slammed it open wide. The sound of the door colliding with the wall behind it cracked through her, as well as the smell of broken plaster. She paid it no head as she stalked to the back of the house, following her nose into the living room where she found her Uncle, leaning against the back of the couch and obviously waiting for her. “Hello, niece,” His voice was as smooth as honey and just as rich. But the voice was far from warm, as cold as winter’s ice. Connie’s temper seethed just under her skin as she bared her teeth at him. "What. The. Fuck?” Connie snarled. She never was one to curse, but at this moment it seemed to be required. “Why the hell did you run Angel off? And Andy!” Her voice was rising as she spoke, eyes flashing to gold and staying. Her Uncle’s dark brown eyes slowly lightened until they matched Connie’s bright gold gleam. “Because they were weak,” was Gregory’s growling response. He was still leaning against the back of the couch, body relaxed and showing he didn’t think of Connie as a threat at all. That sent her temper rising higher, and her mouth ran away with her. “They weren’t weak!” She snarled. “You’re weak!” Gregory stiffened, and drew in a sharp breath. “You can’t speak to your Alpha that way.” His voice was honey-smooth again, but that winter’s ice edge was sharper than before. His eyes flashed dangerously, but Connie ignored it. She was beyond caring at this point. What he had done was beyond wrong. She was the pack Delta, wasn’t she? How had she not seen this madness in him before? A part of Connie was shaken, but that part was very distant to the one that was so furious that it blocked out her common sense. Part of her would weep over this for days, weeks, maybe even years. But right now, nothing else mattered but getting the answers she wanted, and she wanted them right now. “You aren’t my Alpha.” She spoke those words slowly, as if to a child to make sure he understood. She tensed slowly as he pushed himself slowly off the back of the couch, his eyes glowing molten gold with his rage. “Angel was my Alpha.” Slowly, Gregory’s lips pulled back into a vicious snarl. Had Connie been in a better frame of mind, she might have stopped there. But she wasn’t in a better frame of mind. And she didn’t stop. “You’re too weak to be the Alpha of a pack. Any pack. You can’t even control a pup, let alone a whole pack full of angry, sullen wer-“ She was cut off as her Uncle strode forward so fast she almost missed it. She jerked back, but she was too slow. Pain exploded across her face, and she found herself falling onto a table, upending it and shattering the lamp that had been sitting on top of it. She gasped in a sharp, pained breath as she slowly sat up, eyes huge and full of rage and stared at her uncle. “You will not talk to me like that, you little cur.” The insult was as sharp and stinging as the open-palmed slap on her face. She slowly got up, her anger somehow increasing. She hadn’t thought it could increase, but there it was, rising as she rose to her feet. “You son of a bitch,” She snarled and punched out. She got a solid right cross to his jaw, and managed a solid hit to one side of his ribs before she was shoved back with a rib-cracking punch she hadn’t seen in her fury. She gasped with pain as he flung her across the room, her back hitting the wall a full four feet behind her. She felt something crack inside her, and cried out with the immense pain of it. He strode forward, his steps as slow as a predator who knows it has its prey. Then he lashed out with a foot and kicked her on the other side. She felt another rib break, and could only suck in a breath as she slowly slumped sideways. “I was going to make you Beta,” He said, his voice oddly detached as he stared down at her. The anger had fled him faster than it had set in. “But now I don’t even want to see you anymore. I’m taking the pack. We’re leaving Converse. Don’t you dare follow me.” He spat at her, and his lip curled, he turned away. “I want nothing to do with a good for nothing stray.” TEMPLATE BY LITTLE BITTY PRETTY ONE @ CAUTION 2.0 i'm not human Converse is a busy place. I know. I was once one of you. So of course I keep tabs on the place I used to call home. It's quite easy if you know who to talk to. Sometimes it's better than watching Jerry Springer. Especially with the recent eclipse. Silly wolves, freaking out all across town just because you're not quite such a badass anymore. Well, I have news for you. People noticed. Everleigh Mason, a stray who was staying in a cave in the forest, was found by Jason, the Orion alpha, and Connie, an Orion delta. What compassionate people they are. The found her to help her, then forced her into the pack "for her own protection." Regardless of their motivations, she's now living at the pack house for now while adjusting to pack life. The eclipse also brought some others to their knees, so to speak. Cayden Murphy was stuck at work -real bright idea if you ask me - and left surrounded by humans for his little freak out. Apparently, that wolf simply can't function as a human. His brother, Carter, however, got stuck out in the blizzard alone, naked, lost, and freezing. I think Cayden should be grateful. All in all, the eclipse's sneak attack on the local werewolf population wasn't as devastating as it could have been. Nobody was killed. Actually, there was barely any frostbite involved. The repercussions, however... now there's something I'm looking forward to. TEMPLATE BY LITTLE BITTY PRETTY ONE @ CAUTION 2.0 a new chew toy Oh, this is just too good for words. Rufus was a human, albeit an amusing one. You would think that he would have gotten himself bitten when he decided to throw a party in the woods on a full moon. No, that fiasco left him unscathed. The real story is much less exciting at first. He was in the woods with friends who left him behind. Obviously not good friends. But then Nikki arrived and went on the offensive. It happened fast, leaving poor good-hearted Rufus bitten and Nikki freaking out over what she'd done. Luckily, Connie arrived and carried Rufus back to the pack house before things got even more out of hand. Three days of agony later and Orion has a new werewolf. A very new werewolf with an unpredictable temper. And he's all Nikki's responsibility. It's almost enough to make me feel bad for her. Almost. The worst part though, may be the fact that Rufus's father is a hunter. Now Rufus has a very difficult choice ahead of him. Hide what he is from his family despite how erratic his behavior could be? Or tell his family and hope they don't kill him? Choices, choices... At least he met a guy, Alec Hartley, to keep him distracted. TEMPLATE BY LITTLE BITTY PRETTY ONE @ CAUTION 2.0 murphy family values This family is so screwed up. Henry Murphy is a broken man who routinely beats the living shit out of his kids. Carter runs patrols day and night, barely taking the time to eat anything besides what he can catch while he's working for the pack. Cayden is dealing with more girl issues than he cares to think about while also working and attending college. After the eclipse tossed everyone on their heads, the Murphy family is a little stressed out to say the least. What better time for them all to find out that the matriarch of the family isn't dead, as they'd believed? Laura Murphy, Henry's mate and mother to Carter and Cayden, has returned to Converse and to her family. But carrying a terrible secret. For all intents and purposes, Laura is being controlled by a hunter named Michelle. They're trying to find more werewolves so they can be "rehabilitated" meaning brainwashed into believing they aren't natural and should be cured. What does this mean for the family? What does this mean for Laura? Only time will tell... TEMPLATE BY LITTLE BITTY PRETTY ONE @ CAUTION 2.0 are you my daddy? Teenager Lukan Moore comes from a very troubled past. His own parents were way less than kind and then he was bitten at the age of fifteen which turned his world around. He believes he's better off now because he's stronger than the human he used to be. Surely he can take care of himself. But can he? Orion pack alpha, Jason Oliver doesn't think so. Jason had been working hard to get Lukan to open up and to accept authority without the kid believing it was a bad thing. Jason set rules and adhered to them, but also let Lukan know that he was cared about and that punishment for breaking a rule would only last as long as Lukan fought it. Despite the tension you might imagine this could create, Lukan started to open up to the alpha. Just recently, their bond has grown even stronger and Lukan agreed to sign adoption papers. Jason is now the father of one angsty and troubled werewolf teenager. Good luck with that, Mr. Alpha, you'll need it. And congratulations to Lukan, I suppose. The kid deserves it.
