OK, so yesterday in the U.S.A. was thanksgiving. If you don't live there, then know it's just a day where everybody in your family gets together and stuffs themselves with food despite whatever diet they are on. This year our section of the family, meaning me and my mom since my sister isn't home and my dad can't cook, was in charge of making three pies, vegetables, and cranberry sauce. Let me tell you what happened to them, and our kitchen in general.
Sink: Got clogged for 4 out of the 6-7 hours we were working.
Oven: Was officially deemed broken.
My fave sweatshirt: Got splashed a lot trying to unclog the sink.
Pie # 1: This was the Pumpkin pie, my moms godsons favorite. It got burned around the edges.
Pie # 2: This was mincemeat, who gives a crap about it? Well apparently my grandpa does. It didn't get cooked enough despite it being in an oven with a pie that burned for 4 hours.
Pie # 3: This was my favorite, chocolate pudding pie. The crust I made the day before wouldn't brown due to the horrible oven.
Veggies: My mom for got to add something to it, I can't remember what.
Cranberry sauce: I made it, and I did well, but in the process I spilled sugar and cranberries everywhere, and stressed out my mom.
however the worst part about thanksgiving for me, was driving for two hours to get to the part and back ((I get carsick easily)) and having to be social from 3 to midnight. I gave up at 5:30 and started watching t.v. until we had to switch houses for the "dessert party" where I just chilled on a couch listening to my Ipod for 2 hours. So yeah, in-socialite Nikki coming through.
